Prof. Bruria Adini
| Prof. Adini leads since 2018 the Department of Emergency & Disaster Management at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Tel Aviv University. Over the years, her work encompasses fieldwork and applied research to bolster emergency preparedness. Prof. Adini served in the Medical Corps of the IDF for 17 years. Since 2000, she served as a senior consultant of the Ministry of Health on preparedness and response of healthcare systems for emergencies. Throughout the years, she led and delivered training programs on disaster management in Israel and abroad on behalf of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the World Health Organization. Prof. Adini holds board positions with Local Authorities Confronting Disasters and Emergencies (LACDE) and the National Forum of Emergency Management. She served two terms as a World Association of Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM) board member. Prof. Adini’s research interests include risk perceptions, resilience, innovative methods for capacity evaluation, humanitarian aid, and the use of social media in emergencies.
