Member of the Medical Administration of the Hadassah Medical Organisation in Jerusalem, 1990-2003.
Head, The Department of Social Medicine at the Hebrew University – Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, 1990-1999.
Director of School of Public Health, 1999-2003.
Teaching and research, Hebrew University, Jerusalem, the Technion Faculty of Medicine in Haifa (where he headed the Department of Family and Community Health) as well as in London, Washington, South Africa, and in the newly developing Schools of Public Health in Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia.
At the present he is involved in research on Health Inequity and Inequality in Israel (in the Taub Center, Jerusalem) and developing a national program for its reduction in Israel.
