Professor for clinical informatics, The University of Geneva and chairman of the Medical Information Sciences, The University Hospitals of Geneva, Switzerland. 
Dr. Christian Lovis developed the Geneva public state shared patient record. 
His research focuses on clinical data interoperability and semantic representation, including a strong lead on computational linguistics and tools to use medical narratives and texts. 
He is a Fellow of the American Medical informatics association (FACMI) and Medical Informatics certified of the German Medical Informatics Association.
He is Editor-in-Chief of JMIR Medical Informatics and of HealthManagement.Org, and member of the editorial board of several peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association or PLOS One. 
He is a member of the executive board of the Swiss Personalized Health network initiative and of the international advisory board of the German BMBF “Medical Informatics” initiative. 
Christian is the 2016-2018 president of the European Federation of Medical Informatics.
